James came to us with lower back pain as a runner this was affecting him greatly.

It was also affecting his work life. he had been to other therapist and nothing was working for him he was getting depressed and dishearten. It showed in his face, his whole stance when he came in that first time was a man that needed to be out of pain.

When he came out of that treatment room he had a smile on his face and stood upright. This is James story after his second treatment and the smile is still on his face.

Knee Injury Recovery With Sports Therapy At Getfitstayfit Norfolk

We can help with pre-op while you are waiting for that hip or knee surgery to keep those muscles supple and help with mobility meaning less medication and more movement, or Post op as sometimes after surgery people find it difficult to get going again and need that bit of hands on treatment to get them on a good recovery path.

I wanted to get my knee working again. Painkillers didn’t suit me, but I was in constant pain, and it was affecting everything.

Karen had a very complex  knee injury, that required a lot of care. It was not going to be resolved over night, or on its own with just painkillers masking it and rest. Which because of the amount of pain Karen was in, the rest was almost impossible and the painkillers affected her badly, but the Bioneuro Therapy System Sigma Q (∑®  not only solved the problem it also released  the bodies own natural Feel Good Factor, that helped Karen get out of the dumps.

Painkillers

She says

“Throw away the painkiller tablets! – Therapy solves the problem not masks it”.

When I approached Steve and Jacqui, I was limping badly from a month old knee injury, my back hurt, and I was reliant on painkillers to get me through as much of normal life as I could possibly do, – and all sport had stopped. I was unhappy, grumpy, down in the dumps and desperate to DO something, – I wanted to get my knee working again. Painkillers didn’t suit me, but I was in constant pain, and it was affecting everything. After a few sessions from Steve’s Bioneuro Therapy System Sigma Q (∑®) I could feel improvement.

Two months later, fewer than ten sessions have brought my knee back to almost normal range and strength levels, and the smile is back on my face as I am now getting back to everyday life and to my sports.

Thank you Steve! Kirby –

Braydeston 5K Fun Run

A message from a guy who is also now a real friend who we were more than happy to help with his injuries, and he cause.

I had many a dark moment imagining not being able to run again.

You then started to  treat me and not only am I able to run again pain free,I am getting PB’s regularly.

Despite having 43 year old knees that have had 5 operations I feel like I have the knees of a 20 year old some days.

Thank you for everything, you are truly one of life’s ‘good guys’

Hi Steve

Well the dust has settled on the 2012 Braydeston 5k fun run and I just want to take this opportunity to offer you my sincere, heartfelt thanks.

In the lead up to the run I went about the local businesses trying to rustle up support, get a few raffle prizes maybe and generally spread the word.

However, most people had already heard about it due to the fact you had already been in waxing lyrical about it.

I know for a fact that you being at the run giving pre and post massages, advice and treatments got many people round the course on the day.

Your exuberance and positivity for the event didn’t only stop there.

The sports bottles you then supplied for every entrant surpassed that and were fantastically received by all on the day.

Back & Shoulder Pain Recovery With Getfitstayfit Norfolk

Problems with the neck that transferred to the trapezium down through the shoulder to the arms. As I always say all muscles pull and if you have a tight muscle in the upper part of the body it will affect other areas, this was the case for Peter, the same affect as leaning over the computer at work all day, here is his testimony after being treated by Steve.

After more than six months of increasing pain in my shoulder, I could ignore it no longer.

New to the area and not knowing whom to turn to, I found ‘Getfitstayfit Norfolk in the Village Directory. At nearly 65, overweight and unfit, I was the opposite of what I imagined Steve’s usual clients to be! However, after an initial chat on the phone, Steve put my mind at rest and his willingness to help anyone in pain was recommendation enough.

After 4 treatments with the Bioneuro Therapy System, life is almost back to normal. My shoulder is virtually pain free, the increase in range of movement means “I can dress myself again. Doing up a bra with a painful shoulder is not easy!  I can turn over in bed without being in agony.”

The system is unique – you can really feel it working and, coupled with massage, it has really given me a new lease of life. I would thoroughly recommend Steve and his treatments to anyone

Pain Free In Back and Knee’s For Man From Acle in Norfolk

I had nearly ran out of ideas in what to try Hip and Knee surgery recovery, how the Bioneuro Dry System Sigma Q( ΣQ ®) can help, here in Norwich@ Getfitstayfit Norfolk The pioneer of knee replacement surgery was Leslie Gordon Percival Shiers (FRCS); his original papers were published in the Journal of Bone and Joint Surgery in 1954. Shiers refused to patent his invention and demonstrated the operation throughout the world, inviting other surgeons to improve upon his original idea. The first knee replacement was in 1968 and the first hip replacement was in 1960. Previously other attempts on Joint replacement surgery had been made on injured soldiers. And not with any real success. How Far we have come from those days and how many Hip or Knee replacements have taken place since then Following John Charnley‘s success with hip replacement in the 1960’s attempts were made to design knee replacements.

Mark came to us ,in his words  ” Fed Up”

He felt he was getting no where and just wanted to get on with his life again without constant pain, in his job he was constantly on the go up and down ladders and quite a bit of bending and stretching, he had a fall and landed hard , thinking he was ok no broken bones he started back at work , things did not go quite to plan.

Going to the doctors he ended up on painkilling medication that did not agree with him , he was unable to use his bike and was unable to work he was told not to bend, that in his world was going to be impossible , his back hips and knees were all suffering.

Using Neuromuscular Injury Techniques with the aid of the Bioneuro we were able to get Mark not only back on his bike , but back to work.

Hi Steve ,

It’s Mark from Acle just to say thanks for all what you have done after just two sessions on your Bioneuro system I am pain free in my back and knee after having pain for nearly a year . I had nearly ran out of ideas in what to try after being told by the medical profession to stop bending down!. I can’t believe it has only been two weeks and I’m looking forward to going back to work and back on my bike .Many thanks again and I will be highly recommending you to friends and family.

Advice For Ankle Pain, For Drivers In Norwich, Norfolk.

Achilles Tendon

Nick came to see us regarding business , but Steve noticed he was having problems with his foot .

After talking to Nick about the worries Nick had about being on Tramadol. And his job being one where he had to drive all over Norfolk  to see clients., Steve also arranged that he come to see us to have treatment. Which he did  Steve put Nick on the Bioneuro System Sigma Q(∑Q®). Nick has had a couple of treatments, with Getfitstayfit Norfolk and one of the comments he made was

“As I got out of my car to put my foot down I braced myself for the Pain, but it did not happen”,

He was so surprised to be out of pain . Nick has continued to improve and has not had any setbacks.

Steve, thank you for the treatment you have given me recently. As you know, I had pretty much exhausted all the ideas my GP had had. I didn’t think, at 48, that I wanted to spend the rest of my life on Tramadol. Your Bioneuro System Sigma Q(∑Q®). has rejuvenated my ankle and I am getting more movement and flexibility than I have had for years. Anyone who has lost hope with the conventional “treatment” offered by the NHS should give Get Fit Stay Fit a try. I cannot recommend your services highly enough.

Many Thanks

Nick

Thought you might like an update on my leg! I have been doing really well considering that two weeks ago I could barely walk without a walking stick, and was in pain most of the time. I am now walking well again, even taking the dog out again, and no walking stick at all. Even back in my high heels too! I am taking it carefully though, as I get a few twinges now and then but nothing to worry about.

I admire Joys work and the responsibility she has to her clients, so  I was glad to have been of help to Joy, to get her restored ,out of pain and  back to normal as quick as possible , so she could get on with helping her clients with their lives ,

Even back in my high heels too! I am taking it carefully though, as I get a few twinges now and then but nothing to worry about. I would certainly come back to you again if I had any more problems. It is quite amazing that I recovered so quickly as I am no spring chicken, but would have hated to have any medication as I don’t like masking potential problems.

I feel sure that had I seen a specialist I would have been encouraged to have my knee operated on. I would say to anyone with an injury that they should see you first to see what you can do before considering surgery or strong medication, they might find such good results, there is no need for painkillers or surgery.

I am happy for you to use this as a testimonial.

In Pain for Months, Helped Back By Getfitstayfit Norfolk.

I was born with scoliosis and had a Spinal Fusion at three years old. The operation worked very well up until the age of around 20 when I started to notice lower back pain. This increased over the years leaving me struggling with chronic pain. I tried various things like epidural and nerve root injections but nothing seemed to work. In June 2016 I underwent surgery to correct the curve in my spine, taking a piece out and replacing it with a metal cage as well as two metal rods either side for support. Unfortunately during the operation The surgeon caught my spinal cord leaving me in Spinal Shock and temporally paralysed from the waist down, but within days I started being able to move my legs very slightly but I was unable to move my toes or my feet.

Trapped Nerve and Planter Fasciitis.

Hi Steve,

I came to see you  hoping for some relief of the symptoms of a trapped nerve and planter fasciitis.

For at least 6 months I have suffered with the planter fascia and the pain has got worse and worse until I was only able to walk in high heels.

Trapped Nerve and Planter Fasciitis. Hi Steve, I came to see you hoping for some relief of the symptoms of a trapped nerve and planter fasciitis. For at least 6 months I have suffered with the planter fascia and the pain has got worse and worse until I was only able to walk in high heels.

Then with a trapped nerve  somewhere in my shoulder. That I  have received treatment from a physiotherapist on the NHS      for , but sadly no response to the treatment, or indeed a diagnosis.

The pain which spread from the shoulder/neck into my head, arm, chest and back. and with the problem in my foot I was getting worn out.

You were recommended to me and I came to you for treatment. After two hours of treatment on your machine and wonderful (albeit slightly uncomfortable at times) Sports Injury Therapy.

I left feeling very relaxed. Then this morning!!!! I have just had the best night sleep I have had for years not months and my shoulder feels so much easier. I got out of bed prepared to limp to the bathroom and found I could walk on my foot!!

“OK so I slept right through the alarm the following day and was late for work but hey ho!!

I honestly had no idea how bad I was feeling until I felt so much better today than I have in a long time.

I am not yet pain free but after my session next week I hope to be!!  AND all cheaper than the excess on our private health insurance!!

Recovery and Rehabilitation after Knee Surgery In Norwich

Recovery and Rehabilitation after Knee Surgery

I have recently undergone knee surgery on my meniscus.

Prior to my operation Steve successfully diagnosed me with a meniscus tear, this is after my doctor told me I had an MCL tear. Steve suggested I went back to see my doctor again and asked for her to look again, Steve was correct my doctor told me that in fact I did have a Meniscus tear.

All thoughts of me carrying on my normal life were in question ( I am a martial arts instructor and also dance for a premier dance event in Norwich, Pams house).

With the aid Steve using Neuromuscular Injury Therapy along with  Bioneuro Sigma Q(ΣQ)® I have continued my life as normal attending the gym, push-bike riding, martial arts, etc. I have to credit Steve and the work he has done to keep me going, to the point that I was at the gym on the day of surgery 2 hours before.

My surgeon told me before the operation my knee looks in excellent condition, all ligaments and muscle structure were perfectafter the operation again my surgeon visited me and told me ,

“The physio you have be having before this operation has set you up for a very quick recovery, I am very pleased and it looks like all of your hard work along side your physio (Steve) has paid off you will heal much quicker now.”

I am now 2 weeks removed from surgery and again am very much looking forward to returning to my normal active lifestyle, with Steve’s support I know I will.

In closing I would like to mention that the physio offered to me by the NHS told me  that “If you are  seeing Steve then he will be able to offer you much better rehabilitation than we ever could.” What more could I want

I so happy I found Steve and Getfitstayfit Norfolk. Now I can look forward to a successful return to full fitness.

Below a video of what  Brett has to say now he is fully recovered.

Rotator Cuff Injury, No Need For A Cortisone Injection For This Norwich Resident

Rotator Cuff Injury

Brian is a great guy he has been athletic all his life doing weights, swimming and water skiing and many more activities to keep fit.

His age has not slowed him down or taken away his drive to stay fit, he has not had any real problems with his joints, he is the kind of guy who hates for things to slow him down, so you can imagine how he felt when he needed to be on top form and  he sustained a shoulder injury, so was not able to be at his best.

Brian had damaged his Rotator Cuff in  his  shoulder, after a week of being in pain and finding his movement becoming more and more  restricted he went to his Doctor to see what could be done , the Doctor recommended a Cortisone injection , Brian was hesitant as it is an invasive procedure and can be painful in its self.

His Doctor told him to think about it, but booked him in for the injection for the following week, during this thinking time, he met up with Steve and told him about what had happened, Steve explained how he may be able to help and could see him later that day, encouraged by his closest friend Betty, to try something other than the injection Brian came to see Steve.

He was put on the Bioneuro Dry System Sigma Q (∑Q®) that was able to get into the injured area and stimulate and aid in the healing  process  immediately,  the result was quite impressive, Brian felt the difference  straight away he went to see his Doctor to show him the results and to cancel the injection.

Brian said “ His Doctor was impressed and acknowledged the fact that the treatment Brain had received had made a big differencehe  agreed that Brain would not need the Cortisone injection.”

Then with a follow up session just to make sure all was going well, Brian was able to get back to his normal self and is glad that for him a Cortisone injection is not the only answer.

Brian Did Not Want Cortisone injections.

Brian Did Not Want Cortisone injections

Cortisone Injections are Not For Everyone

Brian, who is a very active mature gentleman, keeps fit with weight training and general house hold duties, suffered a shoulder injury nearly a month ago.

He was in great pain, his sleep was disturbed and everything was becoming very gruelling and hard just to get through the day, as his physical ability became more  impaired, at the time he was looking after his partner after she had just come out of hospital after having  had a hip replacement, The GP suggested a cortisone injection!.  A discussion with his partner took place.

Brian then came to see me. I Treated him on the Bioneuro “Dry” Therapy (∑Q®) system and Neuromuscular and Sports Injury Therapy, as I have found they work so well together to achieve better results for clients.

We witnessed powerful results with Brian, his ability to move his shoulder increased and the pain decreased to the point of it being unnoticeable. His GP was impressed with the outcome. They were both happy about there no longer being a need for any injection!

There are various issues and complications that can arise from cortisone injections such as, Atrophy and Depigmentation of the skin at the injection site, introduction of bacterial infection into the body, localized bleeding from broken blood vessels in the skin or muscle, soreness at the injection site, and aggravation of inflammation in the area injected because of reactions to the corticosteroid medication (post injection flare). Increased pain after the injection is typically due to a post injection flare as a true allergic reaction to cortisone is very rare. Tendons can be weakened by corticosteroid injections in or near tendons. Tendon ruptures as a result have been reported.(information from Internet ) This is not to say that Cortisone Injections don’t have their place, because that is wrong below are some facts about Cortisone Injections and we hope they may also alleviate some myths.

What is cortisone?
Cortisone is a type of steroid that is produced naturally by a gland in your body called the adrenal gland. Cortisone is released from the adrenal gland when your body is under stress. Natural cortisone is released into the blood stream and is relatively short-acting.

Injectable cortisone is synthetically produced and has many different trade names (e.g. Celestone, Kenalog, etc.), but is a close derivative of your body’s own product. The most significant differences are that synthetic cortisone is not injected into the blood stream, but into a particular area of inflammation. Also, the synthetic cortisone is designed to act more potently and for a longer period of time (days instead of minutes).

How does the cortisone injection help?
Cortisone is a powerful anti-inflammatory medication. Cortisone is not a pain relieving medication, it only treats the inflammation.

When pain is decreased from cortisone it is because the inflammation is diminished. By injecting the cortisone into a particular area of inflammation, very high concentrations of the medication can be given while keeping potential side-effects to a minimum. Cortisone injections usually work within a few days and the effects can last up to several weeks.

Lumbar Back PainKnee Pain TreatmentShoulder BursitisArthritisTrigger FingerTennis ElbowCarpal Tunnel Syndrome

Are there side effects? Yes. Probably the most common side effect is a ‘cortisone flare,’ a condition where the injected cortisone crystallizes and can cause a brief period of pain worse than before the shot.

This usually lasts a day or two and is best treated by icing the injected area. Another common side-effect is whitening of the skin where the injection is given.

This is only a concern in people with darker skin, and is not harmful, but patients should be aware of this.

Other Side effects of Cortisone Injections

Although rare, can be quite serious. The most concerning is infection, especially if the injection is given into a joint. The best prevention is careful injection technique, with sterilization of the skin using iodine and/or alcohol. Also, patients with diabetes may have a transient increase in their blood sugar which they should watch for closely.

Because cortisone is a naturally occurring substance, true allergic responses to the injected substance do not occur. However, it is possible to be allergic to other aspects of the injection, most commonly the betadine many physicians use to sterilize the skin.

Can I get a cortisone injection more than once?
Yes. There is  no rule as to how many cortisone injection can be given. Often physicians do not want to give more than three, but there is not really a specific limit to the number of shots.

However, there are some practical limitations. If a cortisone injection wears off quickly or does not help the problem, then repeating it may not be worthwhile. Also, animal studies have shown effects of weakening of tendons and softening of cartilage with cortisone injections.

Repeated cortisone injections multiply these effects and increase the risk of potential problems. This is the reason many physicians limit the number of injections they offer to a patient.

The Bioneuro Dry Therapy (∑Q®) works on the central and peripheral nervous systems and aids quicker restoration to full health. Also non- invasive a good and non painful alternative with no needles either!

What we are saying is “Consider the Bioneuro Dry Therapy (∑Q®) system, before the cortisone injections. As it will, relieve the Pain at the same time as aiding the muscles to heal and disbursing the inflammation.”

Testimonial from Marcus & Rachel

marcus & rach

Steve,

Marcus and I wanted to drop you a testimonial about our experiences with our treatment/therapy.

I have known Steve for over a year now and haven’t had to require your services – so to speak! However, the moment came about 1 month ago when I managed to pick up a horrid cold which led to me coughing and sneezing and unfortunately putting my back out.

The real worrying issue being I was due to go away for the weekend in London with Marcus and the pain was causing me to be in so much pain, even in bed laying still it would be excruciating.

I called Steve up on the Friday morning and he fitted me in 8pm that evening so I could have some therapy before going to London the next day.

Although Steve provides Sports Injury Therapy to clients – he was unable to massage me due to my cold – which would have moved the germ around my body and made me feel worse.

So, he hooked me up to his Bioneuro Dry Therapy System which is essentially some pads which he applies to the affected area and the equipment gently manipulates the area to stimulate blood flow again – thereby easing pain.

I did feel better and managed to enjoy my trip to London. I went back to Steve the following week and had the Sports Injury Therapy to back up the treatment I had already had and I have to say, I feel incredible now.

Steve’s always thinking about the best way forward for his clients and is interested in the individual and supporting their treatment and good health after therapy, with suggestions of exercises at home to strengthen the weaker areas treated.

It is fair to say years of carrying a laptop and various heavy bags for work have not led to a particularly strong back.

As a result this has led to weakness in my lower back, also sitting on a desk job all day has not helped either.

Going forward I feel I have the tools to help me get back on track and if I do have any issues in future, Steve will be the first person I consult regarding the health of my back and joints.

Whilst visiting Steve for treatment my husband Marcus has had a poorly neck for about 6-8 weeks following a whiplash injury.

Marcus initially had Sports Injury therapy followed a week later with Bioneuro Therapy System.

Movement is much freer now and as a result he is able to move his neck with much more flexibility and very little stiffness/pain now. Once again, exercises to back up the treatment have certainly helped too.

Marcus runs his own Garage business which as a mechanical engineer means most of his work is on cold floors or in a pit looking up at the bottom of cars, vans and trucks.

Hence, the neck injury was not only causing him pain on a daily basis but was affecting his ability to do his day to day work

Which when you work for yourself is very difficult – as you know Steve!

We cannot thank you enough for the treatment and care you have given us both over the past month.

Everyone we meet who happen to mention twinges in their back, legs, neck have been recommended to you, I hope you gain business from these introductions.

Rach & Marcus. x
