Keith is currently rated 17th in the UK in Archery

Archery these days  is a  high standard competition sport including the Olympics but it owes it’s root’s in the necessity to form an army to protect a Kingdom.

In English culture the Long Bow and  Archery were not just in legends of Robin Hood, or in Poems like  The White Company  by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle.

Indeed Henry III even made it compulsory with the Act of Assizes of Arms of 1252 that all men would be Armed with one of the weapons of the day , but for most they would have to also have a Long Bow they would have to train on this weapon constantly.

You may not believe this but it is true, this law is still in place as it was never repealed.

All English males over the age of 14 are to carry out two hours of longbow practice every week, supervised by the local clergy. This law dates from the middle ages when there was no army and is still in place today.

Yew  trees were commonly planted in English churchyards to make sure that there would always  have readily available longbow wood

This did actually become a bit of a double edged sword as it were, because although this made it easier for the King to raise an army,  it also meant that the bow became the  weapon that was commonly used by rebels during the Peasants Revolt.

The Yeoman class of England became extremely proficient with the longbow, As for  the nobility in England, from then on they had to be careful not to push them into open rebellion .

Anyone who has tried to shoot an Arrow from a Bow, will know it is not an easy thing to do. Good eyesight is necessary

As for the Aim, It is all about Technique , Assuming the Correct Stance , Fluidity  of Motion, Stability and Tension Strength  after all they are pulling on that Bow String to Draw Tension, the equivalent in tension of  20-30 Kilos.

Most choose  what is called a “Neutral Stance “ this term indicates that the leg furthest from the shooting line is a half to a whole foot-length from the other foot, on the ground. As Archers become more proficient they find their own position  some use a Closed Stance others like  ( Keith use an open Stance.)

With the body nearly perpendicular to the target and the shooting line, with the feet placed shoulder-width apart, the archer then raises the bow and draws the string, they will  vary the alignments for vertical versus  slightly canted bow positions. We may not see all that is going on when we watch them, as this is often one fluid motion

Competition bows such as (The Recurve Bow that Keith uses) are released almost immediately upon reaching full draw at maximum weight, whereas compound bows reach their maximum weight around the last inch and a half, dropping holding weight significantly at full draw. Compound bows are often held at full draw for a long time to achieve maximum accuracy.

To release  the arrow, the Archer will relax the fingers of the drawing hand,as does Keith ( some that use a competition bow, have a triggering mechanical release aid) at the same time still keeping the drawing arm ridged, and the Bow Hand relaxed, the arrow is moved back into position by using the Back Muscles as opposed to using arm motions  (This will become very evident when you watch the video of Keith).

They also, as with any shooting activity be aware of Recoil action, follow through of the body if this is not checked it may indicate problems with their form technique and could possibly affect their accuracy and efficiency .

Archery Hits the Target, Keith is on his way to the Olympics

To aid his performance it is vital to ensure all the skeletal muscles in his thoracic area of his back are primed for action ,  the importance of these muscles firing in the correct order to achieve the positive execution of the outcome of his shot.

This means his Rhomboids (Major and Minor ) also his Serratus Anterior, being the Antagonist to the Rhomboids is critical, also his Triceps muscles in order to sustain stability.

With the archer’s lower Trapezius muscles being used to pull the arrow to the anchor point.  This is when the archer draws the string hand towards the face, where it should rest lightly at a fixed anchor point. This point should be consistent from shot to shot, and is usually at the corner of the mouth, on the chin, to the cheek, or to the ear, depending on the archers preferred shooting style.

Because the archer has to hold the bow arm outwards, toward the target. the elbow of this arm should be rotated so that the inner elbow is perpendicular to the ground, though some archers with hyper extendable elbows will  tend to angle the inner elbow toward the ground.

These muscles need to work in unison being strong achieving full tautness that can be retained for a period of time   when in action of Adversion ,  but at the same time remaining supple .whilst the execution of his shot is in motion.

The definition of the muscles in this video and  the recruitment and firing of the muscle,  can clearly be seen. You will notice the fluidity of the muscle progression while Keith is taking the shot

“And for those of you who would like to know where all those arrows landed while doing this video,  this picture says it all that is why he is on his way to the Olympics  and we are proud to be looking after him and keeping him in Top Form”

Suddenly a bit of hope after a year, with unbearable Neuropathic foot pain in both feet and foot drop on my right side.

Neuropathic foot pain

Those who really know me ,will know that I enjoy learning everyday about the human body ,it’s functions and how to help all my patients to have the best quality of life possible .

Pain and injury free and being able to contribute to society to play a positive role !.

Here is a young man who is a work in progress.

Recently, I have been liaising with his physiotherapist  at a national spinal unit ,what a joy is was to talk about importance of us working together, to get the best for our mutual patient using exercise, massage, combined with Bioneuro Therapy to achieve a good clinical outcome, as far as possible .

Here is Joe’s story so far .

I was born with scoliosis and had a Spinal Fusion at three  years old. The operation worked very well up until the age of around 20 when I started to notice lower back pain.

This increased over the years leaving me struggling with chronic pain. I tried various things like epidural and nerve root injections but nothing seemed to work.

In June 2016 I underwent surgery to correct the curve in my spine, taking a piece out and replacing it with a metal cage as well as two metal rods either side for support.

Unfortunately during the operation The surgeon caught my spinal cord leaving me in Spinal Shock and temporally paralysed from the waist down, but within days I started being able to move my legs very slightly but I was unable to move my toes or my feet.

Its nearly a year on and I have improved a lot, but suffer I with unbearable Neuropathic foot pain in both feet and foot drop on my right side.

“I seem to have reached a plateau, my physiotherapist, decided they could no longer help me, as they had ran out of ideas, but I was not about to give up.”

Hearing about Steve from a friend I contacted him straight away he said.  “I will try my very best to help you and do all I can.”

Suddenly a bit of hope in such a hard few months! I’ve been seeing Steve for a few weeks now and although I know its going to be a long road, the improvements especially in the mornings have been a real blessing. Massage combined with Steve’s machine, we have already noticed a reduction the need of the pain killers ,feet feeling warmer and sensations all over my body in a good way .

Steve has been true to his word, even discussing tactics with my physiotherapist and together they feel there is more can be done.

“I am Feeling much more positive now and have a goal, to be back walking without crutches in the not to distant future.”

I can now cough and sneeze without having to hold my side because of the pain, I can laugh and it doesn’t hurt.

I can laugh and it doesn’t hurt

“Sara came to us, initially as a mum with her son , having seen how we helped him, she asked if we could help her , the answer was “we will do our best”. And we did the results were great  as Sara explains below .”

Having had Steve work on my son Will’s knee after a rugby injury and fixing it so well that he did not need surgery,

I asked Steve if he could sort out my problems that I had suffered for over 14 years!

Having had Steve work on my son Will’s knee after a rugby injury and fixing it so well that he did not need surgery, I asked Steve if he could sort out my problems that I had suffered for over 14 years!

The main problem for Sara was deep rooted problems with her  Fascia, This is The band of connective tissue primarily made up of collagen that is  beneath the skin that attaches, stabilises, encloses, and separates muscles and other internal organs , but after injury it will tighten in Sara’s case causing constant pain in upper and lower back ,” when this is happens the fascia needs to be stretched it needs to be pliable again exercise will not achieve this, massage helps , but we have found that massage along with the Bioneuro has been of great beneficial help in a shorter length of time.

Sara aged 46 years, Problem with right lung after having Pneumonia and Pleural empyemaalso problem with lower back after problems in child birth.

“I NEVER KNEW WHAT NORMAL WAS”

My first problem was with my lung, which gave me constant pain when I sneezed, coughed and even laughed! It had been left damaged from having pneumonia and Pleural empyema, I had had an operation that had left some nerve damage to my right arm, which meant lack of strength and pain and s I said my lung was damaged, the best description was it would feel like sandpaper rubbing against the skin. I presumed that nothing could be done for both these issues. Steve had other ideas.

Using the Bionuero Therapy System, Steve said that he would try to get things working again and he wasn’t wrongAfter just one session my pain had gone! I can now cough and sneeze without having to hold my side because of the pain, I can laugh and it doesn’t hurt.

To say I can now breathe may sound strange but for so long I had not been able to completely fill my lungs, I didn’t know what normal was;

I DO NOW. !!!! 4 weeks on and it is still the same, to think all I had to do was lay down get hooked up to the machine and have an hour or so of treatment. It wasn’t painful either, strange feelings of pressure on your body, or little kicks of electric shocks but never painful.

The following few sessions were a little bit more taxing. I had had lower back pain since I bore my first son which left me with damaged nerves and ligaments and a misaligned pelvis. Although this had gotten better after my second pregnancy I was left with a dull ache in my lower back and often tightness in my legs along with the annoying shooting pain in my left buttock and leg which would leave me unable to walk properly. Anyone who suffers this will know what I mean.

Just 4 sessions of the Bionuero system and I could not believe the results.

I could not do a simple leg raise without painan hour of this treatment and I could raise it with ease and with no pain.

I even loved the treatment, which I have to say I miss. 3 other sessions and all sorted.

It took a week I would say for it all to settle, I would still wake some mornings thinking uh oh pain is back but this slowly dissipated and for the past month I have had no pain at all. I have been able to have a whole day gardening and not feel stiff at all, even the next day. I can lift and carry things again without the pain. I can even sit or stand for long periods without feeling discomfort. No waking up in the morning and struggling to get out of bed!

I truly believe in this system, it is so simple yet so effective.

If you want to know what normal is, I highly recommend having this treatment, it is worth every penny.

Young Athlete’s Rugby Injury Healed With help from The BioNeuro and Getfitstayfit Norfolk.

Rugby Injury

Will an up and coming young athlete , aged 16 years, with an Injury problem to his knee after rugby incident.

Will was not in a good way when he first came to us , not only was he not able to take part in any sports due to his injury even walking was difficult , for a young man whose life revolved around his sport he was pretty down.

We got to work with The Bioneuro and Sports Massage and the results were very evident , read what his very happy  mum had to say.

Will had injured his knee 2 months previous after having it bent awkwardly in a rugby match. He had been told he had damaged his MCL and was waiting for an MRI scan. His knee however although he could walk on it, it was still very painful, he was unable to fully extend it and the pain from movement was waking him at night.

He started seeing Steve once a week, 4 weeks ago and the improvement has been brilliant. After assessing Will, Steve began treatment using the Bioneuro Therapy System. After will had endured  2 months of pain,  then with  just one session with Steve, Will said that “The pain had eased,” he could extend his knee slightly further and movement was easier.

Being an observer whilst Will was getting treatment everything was done professionally, caring and without any stress to the injury at all.

Seeing how relaxed Will was whilst the machine and Steve did the work, made it hard to believe anything was happening, but you could actually see the knee moving slightly and straightening out, it was amazing. Then to see Will stand up and walk around the room with hardly any limp after just 30 mins was fantastic.

Steve’s care has been second to none, making sure that Will gets the correct treatment, contacting Consultants and our own GP, also working on all Wills other ailments which, I know, will be fixed.

In Wills own words Steve has done more in these 4 visits than any Doctor has ever done over the years, Will has had to see them regarding injuries/medical problems.

Sara (Will’s Mum)

UPDATE

6 weeks on

Will has now come to the end of his treatment.

” Yes in just 10 weeks and his knee is fixed. Not just fixed okay to the point that he could cope, till he had to have surgery,  but he is  fixed  brilliantly and the best thing is he will No Longer Require Surgery.” A Major relief after, having seen a consultant and being told that Will’s meniscus was torn and an MRI scan was needed to confirm the severity.

Will continued to have the treatment with Steve on his knee along with having various other conditions sorted, as in tennis elbow, neck & shoulder issues.

On his last visit Steve had received the scans results back to be told that the tear had healed.

No surgery required! Fantastic news for Will!

This means he will not have to miss anymore of the sports he loves and he has already been back on the rugby field after 18 weeks out, immediately scoring 2 tries and setting up another!

Also means saving NHS money on theatre/operation costs .

We have no idea what would have happened if we had not have found Steve, his work and care has been fantastic and I cannot recommend him enough, in fact anyone says they have the merest of twinges I tell them to go see him !

The huge dark cloud of injury, that had threatened Lucy, of The GB Kayak Team, was swept away By Getfitstayfit Norfolk.

What is a Gold Medal Achievement

GB Kayak Team Member Lucy needed help Mum contacted Getfitstayfit Norfolk, we got Lucy back on form again and one happy mum sent us this email.

With the amount of training Lucy has to do for her kayaking I am always concerned that she might come home broken one day.

This turned out to be the case when she came home from a ski training camp this spring. The trip was primarily cross-country skiing to help with the aerobic fitness training for her kayaking. On the last day Lucy went snow boarding and had a couple of pretty heavy falls.

On arriving home she complained of a headache, so we all presumed she had concussion but during the week she did not improve and could not train at all or do any of her studies.

This Was Not good

On arriving home she complained of a headache, so we all presumed she had concussion but during the week she did not improve and could not train at all or do any of her studies. This Was Not good.

After talking through her fall, I realised that she might actually be suffering more from a whiplash type injury, so I phoned Steve Kirby  who had recently been recommended to me by a friend who had suffered a serious fall from her horse.

She had said “Get Lucy to see Steve he’s a miracle worker!”  She was not wrong. After one session Lucy’s headaches were gone she could move freely, not even realising that she had in fact been quite stiff and restricted in her movement even prior to skiing.

It was like a huge dark cloud which had threatened to ruin her whole season and possibly career had been swept away.

After 2 days she was back in her boat and back to gentle training and then back to Nottingham, for full training within a week of her being home.

Result and huge relief all round. It’s was quite hard to keep Lucy Thinking positively before seeing Steve as she thought her season was ruined before it had begun.

All I can say is a huge thank you from me, for not only correcting physical issues, but this has a knock on effect on the mental attitude .

Great to see the young lady I have been helping ( a Member of GB u23 Kayak Sprint Team ) who travelled from Nottingham to Norwich for Sports Massage and Bioneuro treatment to ensure she is on good form for selection for the European Championships

“Now she has a belief that yes she can train hard again and achieve her goals. Some things are meant to be and without her fall we may never have met Steve who has sorted out a lot of longstanding issues which we would otherwise not have known about.”

Runners need to make sure their feet are in good condition some basic advice may help.

Runners need to make sure their feet are in good condition

First tip. Your feet these are the things that are going to be carrying you through this, so they need to be looked after, keep them clean make sure that your toenails are trimmed.
Make sure your trainers fit well and are comfortable a few runners say it is best to try new trainers on later in the day when your feet are hot, this is your call but always make sure you only wear them on short runs to begin with, you do not want to be wearing new trainers on the day of a big run, they need to be already be worn in, or you may get blisters on the day ,but we don’t need to encourage them.
What about the socks ? make sure you turn them inside out and check for loose threads before the day of a big run, make sure they fit comfortably don’t have them to tight, socks can do a lot of damage if they cut into you.

Now the exercises for the feet while sitting in a chair. You need a tennis ball put it under the arch of the foot and roll it down to the ball of the foot then up to the heel this will help to stretch those muscle in that area you also need to grip the toes in and out a few times a day again to stretch muscles in the foot, also again while sitting a form calf raises this will help the Achilles tendon.

Plantar Fasciitis , Plantar Fasciosis or Capsulitis

You also need to pamper your feet, massage between the toes around the toenails under the toes, you can get cracks in the skin there and don’t forget the ankle ( always massage towards the ankle then up towards the lower leg with firm but gentle pressure you can always use a bit of olive oil ) look after them tootsies now and they will do you proud on the day.

Runners Preparation for Marathon 2017 2nd Session

Since Jacqui had damage to her knee and had to have a knee replacement, back in 2010, I have had a great deal of interest in knee pathologies and how to help with knee pain Then an opportunity to go to the University of Dundee at their Department of Anatomy to find out a whole lot more, on a Body Dissection Course, the main focus of the course being on being BioTensegrity, Genetics,Kinetics and Synergetics , with one of the best Human Anatomist, John Sharkey of the NTC in Dublin was to good an opportunity to miss.

Patient X attended my clinic for 2nd Session  “Preparation Marathon for 2017.”

It may be the Festive season, but when you are in training for a Marathon you still have to do that training , you have to keep on top of things that also means no overdoing the festive treats.

There are a lot of things to be considered when training in the winter time Warming up it is even more important in winter, Cold Muscles do not work well.

The Immune system needs a boost,  unfortunately  because when you are running you are pushing your body to do more than it wants ,  the body is working hard  having to repair itself more, you are using more of your vitamins and nutrients on that  repair work,  that it increases the chance of  you being more open to cold and flu infections.

You need to increase your Vitamin C, Zinc , Vitamin D3 and Calcium , as with the winter weather there is less chance to boost Vitamin D3 with sunlight, but we will talk more about that as we go through the next few weeks.

London Marathon 2012

Week 2

The second treatment session for Patient X took place on rest period day from training . Wanting to ensure good motor neuron function in the feet we concentrated the Bioneuro Sigma Q  treatment with Pads on the feet.

A very interesting observation on this mornings intervention was presented with a excessively hyper-tonic calf muscles/shin splints  on the left leg . Dorsi flexion and Plantar flexion actions appeared  slightly impaired .Following treatment we had total pain free movement and were able to continue with the days work.

Severe Pain Across Lower Back And Down Both Legs

Today we also proved that the “Deep Peroneal nerve  can be activated and movement improved  with   Bioneuro Sigma Q.

This weeks running has been great.

2x 5mile pace runs.

1x 10 mile steady and

1x 5 mile easy.

Both the pace runs went well. Ran them at night.  Both finishing strong with fastest mile being the last one.  Second one was in new location which always helps as its always good to change the scenery.

My ten miler was in Xmas Eve. Decided to mix it up so I ran to my local Park Run (3.5 miles away) completed that before running home after. Obviously didn’t go flat out at PR due to the need to retain some energy for the – mainly uphill – return route.

Anyway my average time was nearly s minute per mile under my marathon target pace which is great. Again finishing with a good last mile.

Next run was an easy 5 mile, taking it steady and not pushing it.  Still kept under target pace though.

All in all 4 really good runs. On target with just over 100 days til race day.

My hope of getting under 4 hours is looking good – today at least.

My PB of 4:01 is there to be beat!

HNY Steve and thanks for looking after me.

After yesterday’s session I have no aches and pains. My shin splints which were very painful after the last run, seem to have calmed down since the Bioneuro treatment.

Runners Preparation for Marathon 2017

Runners Preparation for Marathon

Patient X attended my clinic for treatment, “Preparation Marathon for 2017.”

Week 1

Starting with full assessment of the muscular skeletal condition, then into preparation treatment with the use of Sports Massage Neuro Muscular Technics and Bioneuro Therapy Treatment.

Working on the feet aiding the motor neuron /nerve messengers to have greater ability of nerve function and blood flow to the feet.

This will open up nerve function and blood flow to all lower extremity muscles helping the muscles to function better.

Moving onto massaging the legs and Achilles Tendon area ,  applying  Neuromuscular Techniques combined with massage worked to deal aided the welfare of the calf area.

With a knee pathology present the use of MET’S (Muscle Energy Techniques ) to release shortened hamstrings from Weight Training session.

Whilst treating Patient x’s legs the Bioneuro Sigma Q was also applied to the Lower Back, this helped relieve those shortened/hyper-tonic muscles  from the (Dead lift weight training session ).

Massage and manipulation followed, Patient X felt rejuvenated ready for the next stage of training leaving  feeling  fitter, injury free and stronger to achieve the goal of that marathon next year ! .

Whilst treating Patient x’s legs the Bioneuro Sigma Q was also applied to the Lower Back, this helped relieve those shortened/hyper-tonic muscles from the (Dead lift weight training session ).

Report from Patient X

“Normally DOMS is quite prevalent on a Saturday after Thursday dead lifts. Not today though.  Hamstrings and lower back weren’t as tight as usual and my run this morning was much easier thanks to yesterday’s session.

Good cool down after too so hopefully I won’t stiffen up later today. Ran my planned 10 miles at a steady pace fitting in the local Park Run midway through for good measure.  Knee was its usual aching niggle but that’s nothing new is it?

All in all it was made easier thanks to your treatment yesterday. Thank you.

Patient X”

This Weeks Tip from Get Fit Stay Fit Norfolk for Runners

“Running of any type calls for continues numerous  muscle actions . The greater the drawing together of these muscle groups the velocity generation from this action will create hyper-tonic muscles . All muscles in the body “Pull” and decreased circulation can be the result . Massage combined with Neuromuscular Therapy and Bioneuro Sigma Q  will enhance the runners general well being ,aid restoration and training ability.

What Foot & Heel Pain Treatment in Norwich, Norfolk ???

Heel Pain

Mark came to our clinic here in Norwich in a great deal of PAIN in his FOOT and more now he is .“Pain Free, yes after 18 month’s of constant pain he is now pain free in his heel and  back he is now back participating in sport once again and enjoying life. “

Mark told us “ About 24 months ago I started suffering with a pain in my left heel and was diagnosed with plantar fasciitis. During the next 12 months I tried various methods to resolve the issue from Adjustable boots to massage balls for your feet all which gave me limited relief for short periods of time.

"About 24 months ago I started suffering with a pain in my left heel and was diagnosed with plantar fasciitis. During the next 12 months I tried various methods to resolve the issue from Adjustable boots to massage balls for your feet all which gave me limited relief for short periods of time.

I was recommended to contact, “Get fit stay fit Norfolk and talk to Steve, make an appointment for an assessment.”

I met Steve at his treatment room and he set about assessing my problem with my heel, however what I got was a complete MOT….Steve asked a series of questions about my current well being, completed a physical and set about assessing me.

“So, just my heel your thinking, oh No, I also mentioned to Steve that I suffered from Backache from time to time and the occasional headache as well but the main issue was with my heel.”

It soon became clear that my backache was as a result of me walking differently because of the pain in my heel. Steve suggested a course of Bioneuro Therapy coupled with a deep massage.

To be honest, I was sceptical with the approach as I hadn’t seen this type of therapy before, however in for a penny in for a pound as they say, as I thought I’ve got nothing to loose.

Early results were frustrating for me as I was getting some relief for short periods of time but the pain continued for some time. I attended Steve’s clinic weekly and continued with the course of treatment. Steve was also dealing with my back issue and also used Bioneuro Therapy coupled with a deep massage in this area as well and what he called Neuromuscular Manipulation

I cant say that I enjoyed all of the deep massages (No pain no Gain comes to mind) at the time, but the rest was ok and the  benefit of this coupled with the Bioneuro Therapy had  started to pay dividends.

I hadn’t expected an instant cure and maybe I was hoping for a quicker result.

Steve explained to me that the damage had been done over a long period of time and would take time to heal , but you get to a tipping point when the healing starts to progress and things really do feel better, it is easy to forget how much pain you were in.

This is how it happened to me, the periods where I was pain free started to extend between treatments and the treatments became less frequent that has now brought me to my current status…….Pain Free, yes after 18 month’s of constant pain I’m now pain free in my heel and my back.

I’m now back participating in sport once again and I’m enjoying life.

Regards

Mark

For Raven Giving up Kick Boxing Was not an Option

Kick Boxing

Raven attended Getfitstayfit Norfolk earlier this summer with server knee pain.

Steve ,carried out a full knee exam and found his knee to be very unstable, a few home truths had to be told to this young man as to what he may be facing.

A torn Meniscus and Posterior Cruciate Ligament damage were Steve’s findings, his knee was locking and giving way.

“I have been in the Sports Injury business for many years, but Ravens Injuries were some of the worst I had seen in a long time.”

This young man is a serious Martial Artist, Kick Boxer and Coach, a knee injury  was devastating news for him.

We started to be treat Raven on the BioNeuro MK2 Sigma Q, to help get some sort of function back  into the knee,

then on Raven next visit he informed us “That after the first treatment  session his knee did NOT lockup at all,” so  Steve knew he had something to work with .

Steve, explained to Raven how the nerve pathways  worked in the knee on the muscles and ligament’ s, setting up a treatment plan, knowing

Raven would have to be referred  to see a Orthopaedic  Surgeon in Norwich due to the Trauma in the area the surgery concerned and with conditions that would affect the Musculoskeletal system (the bones, joints, ligaments ,tendons, muscles and nerves)  it would be important for him to be in the best shape possible for this surgery.

The first appointment with the surgeon was arranged, an MRI scan was ordered, the result ,showed numerous problems this sort of injury affected so much and would need

. “A dogs dinner “ was the description the surgeon gave it . “I will try to do all I can to save the knee “. These were his closing words as procedures for surgery where started.

“A dogs dinner “ was the description the surgeon gave it . “I will try to do all I can to save the knee “. These were his closing words as procedures for surgery  where started.

In the meantime while waiting for Surgery it was our job to keep Ravens Muscles supple and flexible in preparation for the operation, the aim being to make things easier for the surgeon to do his work.

Further weekly sessions of BioNeuroMK2, continued along with Neuromuscular Therapy and Massage, the need for No More Deterioration was important,  thankfully Raven being young and very physically fit, also understanding the importance of continued exercise was able to keep on top of things.

Raven, is deeply dedicated to his sport he was also in training for a title fight . “I was totally gob smacked ,people in the gym did not know I had a problem .” Said Raven, we were a bit concerned at this, but there was no longer any  locking or giving way ,no instability with this mans knee at all.

Then the day of the pre-operation  assessment came . Raven contacted us and said, “Steve I went, but I felt very guilty, every other patient there, was for surgery with a similar problems to mine, but they were in wheelchairs or on crutch’s, while I was walking normally” said Raven.

The operation took place at  Norfolk and Norwich under an incredible Orthopaedic surgeon, Mr Charles Mann MBBS, FRCS(Eng), FRCS(Ed), FRCS(Orth), whom we respect and admire greatly , along with his team, having completed the surgery,  he then gave Raven  a small gift,  part of the damaged cartilage that he had removed and told him

“Well ,we have saved your knee .”

Further Bioneuro treatment will now help in a rehabilitation program and restore full function quicker than orthodox physiotherapy.

One last word from Raven . ” Thank God for  Steve, The Bioneuro Treatment , and a great surgeon “

A fighter who we know has return, stronger and fitter to achieve his goals !

Return To The Green And Bowls, Earlier Than Anticipated, for Michael Thanks to Getfitstayfit Norfolk

Bowls

Hobbies that involve exercise and socialising are enormously beneficial to both our physical and mental well being.

So when Michael developed a frozen shoulder his time away from his Outdoor and Indoor Bowls was not only painful but frustrating for him.

Previous shoulder issues treated only with rest and medication will not properly rehabilitate and are prone to re-injury until properly conditioned by corrective exercise, therapy treatment, Sports Massage and Neuromuscular Therapy and manipulation . Exercises alone will not gain full pain free restoration and quality of life.

” I had been to my doctor and was told that I had tendinitis and needed an injection in the shoulder, but there was possibly a 24 week wait, the pain was growing worse and life was getting more difficult and my chances of playing in competitions were proving difficult , I  knew I had to do something about it.”

Michael then came to see Steve Kirby at Getfitstayfit Norfolk.

Michael responded to treatment very well right from the start using the Bioneuro and Neuromuscular Techniques with Sports Massage, Steve was able to help Michael gain Pain Free Movement without the need for the Steroid injection.

In a very Short Time Michael was back on the green enjoying his game and his Social life.

“After my very first session with Steve my shoulder felt so much Better with the majority of my movement restored;” enthused Michael “After two more sessions with Steve my shoulder felt completely better.”

It is now three months since Michael’s treatment he has had a great season of Competition  Outdoor Bowls  with out so much as a twinge.

Steve and I went to see Michael at a match and get some photos, also to thank him for the referrals he had sent our way.

It was great to see how well he was doing, although we had made Michael very happy and his game is now back on top form, one of his competitors may not have been to happy , he came to us and asked.

“Why have you fixed him we were doing so well while he was injured”.

“Well you can’t please everyone, but we are so glad we were able to please Michael.”
